How I can be happy and live in an authentic manner has interested me for most of my life. Connecting to others, being in relationships, sustaining those relationships, and creating a life that I enjoy and feel worthwhile is a wonderful aim that is not always easy to achieve. I left school and home at age 15, I was an unloved and mentally unstable teenager, I was interested in human life and their relationships. It took me a few years to discover Gestalt Therapy and later Buddhist thought and training. Gestalt and Buddhism sit well together. My training and therapy in Gestalt enabled me to appreciate how shame had affected my life. This proved so difficult to over -come, there was no quick fix. I challenged myself and took risks in order to feel differently about myself. Eventually I got to feel more confident and was able to become a good therapist. I do not instruct people , rather they find who they are and the journey they wish to undertake.
